Dear friends of Culture,
There is a heaviness in the air these days, so I don't want to write much, but I would like to share an image with you. It is the image of thorny plants that dominate the landscape I walk through every day near the coast. They are spiny buckthorns.
For what felt like a long time, the buckthorn lay in a grey slumber. Its shell was withered and faded, its thorns stretched out defiantly. Only the rainwater was able to kiss it awake.
But... not every bush has awakened; some have lost their last breath of life. However, a few have managed to hold on and are now turning green. And, what a delicate miracle, they are bearing tiny, delicate purple flowers.
Wishing you all a blessed Easter season,
Mikaela Nowak
