Events in the 14th week of 2025

Dear friends of Culture,

the island is showing itself in a greenish colour even in the barren areas. Festive clothing that has been hanging in the closet for years. And that: just in time for the beginning of spring!

Even our sun-loving guests stoically endure the odd shower, but find consolation in the flower meadows and not infrequently rainbows. But also enough warmth and sunlight again and again. It doesn't stay grey here for long.

Some islanders are also happy about a filled Aljibe, a cistern. And it shows just now how many of them remain unused. The municipal cisterns seem to be almost completely unused. With the introduction of the first desalination plant in 1962, more and more emphasis was placed on this water supply, which was more constant. And only now there seems to be some movement on the island that would like to bring the Aljibe back to life in order to use the precious rainwater.

Water is and will remain an issue that is closely linked to Lanzarote.
