The Cochineal louse provides a high quality carmine red, which is obtained here in Lanzarote and is used to dye textiles, food, alcoholic drinks and lipsticks.

In a short introduction you will learn everything worth knowing about the louse Cochineal and get an introduction to the production in colour.

By mixing this carmine red with water or other substances you get bright red tones. You can experiment with these watercolor shades to your liking and a fiery and individual work will be created.
