PAINTING LABYRINTHS ON LAVA STONE

with Beatrix Wohlfeld

Every Monday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The story of The Labyrinth is as long and strange as its winding path. The aim is to find the mysterious centre.

The labyrinth is a whisper, a sacred sign, an ancient symbol. It is found in cathedrals or on lonely islands, in ancient manuscripts or in the mountains of Mexico. Its traces in history and its use in cultures reveal, understand and interpret many things, but much remains to be answered.

The course provides an introductory overview of the history of labyrinths. The original form is then elaborated with a drawing. Finally, the labyrinth is painted on the oiled lava stone with a white pencil
