Sound Theatre

Gundula Harlan has been inspiring children and adults for more than 40 years with her fairytale sound theatre for 3-100 year olds. A fairy tale hour in which the audience of all ages can participate and which is a combination of self-built instruments, disguises and the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm.

More than 20 years ago Gundula Harlan moved to the Canary Island of Lanzarote and brought the sound theatre with her - some instruments that fit into a suitcase, like the "singing saw", fling horns, a big cimbalom and colourful cloths for the theatre stage.

The costumes, masks, as well as the self-made instruments reinforce the fairy tale narrative and create an exuberant and cheerful atmosphere that grips all visitors every time.

The Bremen Town Musicians, the Three Feathers, the Seven Little Goats, Hare and Hedgehog, the Seven Ravens and the Rumpelstiltskin are part of the fixed repertoire. The magical fairy tale hour in the spiral of lights is also a popular highlight, especially at Christmas time.

"It is probably exactly what people need today, the healing power of fairy tales combined with one's own activity and the diverse sounds and roles one slips into and contributes to the formation of the self". Gundula Harlan
